Zoltan Macsai, horn

Zoltan Mácsai was born on October 16, 1985 in Berettyoujfalu / Hungary. He first studied in Budapest with Palma Szilagyi and later in Berlin with Marie-Luise Neunecker. From 2008-2016 he was principal horn in the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra. Since 2016 he has been a solo horn player with the „Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden“. He is a regular guest with orchestras such as the Symphony Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio, Gewandhausorchester Leipzig, Munich Philharmonic or the Staatskapelle Berlin under Daniel Barenboim. Since 2021 he is also a member of the Bayreuth Festival orchestra. Zoltan Macsai is the winner of international competitions (including Prague Spring, Aeolus Competition Düsseldorf, Markneukirchen horn competition). As a soloist he has already performed with the Staatskapelle Dresden, NDR Radiophilharmonie Hannover, Düsseldorfer Symphoniker and the Mozarteumorchester Salzburg under the direction of Christian Thielemann, Ivor Bolton and Michael Gielen, among others.
