Andrej Kasik, piano

Andrej Kasik was born in Germany and studied in Lviv/Ukraine, in Prague and in Vienna, finishing his studies with Oleg Maisenberg. He has frequently been influenced by prominent pedagogues, such as Rudolf Kehrer, Vladimir Krainev, Dmitri Bashkirov, Elisabeth Leonskaya and Elisso Virsaladze. ​ Andrej Kasik gave appearances as a soloist with orchestras such as the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmony Lviv. The young pianist was guest soloist at the Rudolfinum in Prague in 2003, 2006 and 2008, where he performed Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.4 and Piano Concertos by Grieg and Schumann with the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra. These concerts were broadcasted live by the Czech Radio. ​ In 2012 Andrej Kasik played his debut at the Vienna Musikverein with works by Bach and Prokofiev. For the following seasons he was invited for another solo recital and a project in collaboration with the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra at the Wiener Festwochen festival. As a devoted chamber musician he frequently collaborates with members of the Sächsiche Staatskapelle Dresden and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. He also gave concerts together with the Arnold Schönberg Choir Vienna and Russian soprano and Mariinsky Theatre soloist Oxana Shilova. ​ His solo repertory includes works by Scarlatti and Bach, sonatas and variations of the classicism period, romantic compositions by Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt and Brahms, and piano music by Debussy, Skryabin, Rachmaninov and Prokofiev.
