Andreas Kissling, flute

Andreas Kißling was born in 1984 in Göppingen, Germany, where he began his flute playing at the local music school. After winning the main competition for young musicians, „Jugend Musiziert“, he started pre- studies with Roswitha Staege and Karlheinz Zoeller at the University of the Arts Berlin. Later he began regular studies there. He gained prices at the International Haendel Competition Halle and the International Aurèle Nicolet Flute Competition in Beijing. Already before finishing his studies Kißling started playing as Principal Flutist with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra Saarbrücken and Kaiserslautern. Since 2011 Andreas Kißling is principal flutist at the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden under Christian Thielemann. He played the German premiere of Mieczyslaw Weinbergs‘ 2nd Flute Concerto with the Staatskapelle Dresden and Coriglianos‘ Pied Piper Fantasy with the Robert- Schumann- Philharmonie Chemnitz. As he is looking for new inspiration all the time, he is very keen in traveling, with the orchestra or family, in all kinds of music from everywhere, movies, theatre and arts. Andreas Kißling is playing an 18K Muramatsu Gold Flute.
